Travati can not wait to send our clients to experience this amazing adventure. Desert & Delta Safaris has introduced new sleep-out experiences at two of its resorts, Camp Okavango and Leroo La Tau.
Camp Okavango’s sleep-out deck is on the southern tip of Nxaraga island in the heart of the Delta
Guests can enjoy after-dinner drinks by lantern light on the deck, which is on a remote part of the island away from the rest of the camp. The deck is fitted with a toilet and basin and large mosquito net.
Marketing director, James Wilson, said Desert & Delta was excited to see a gradual resumption of international travel to Botswana and, from the end of April, all its lodges would be operational and ready to welcome guests.
“There are few places where you can truly have your own piece of the wilderness and this is one of them. The deck is elevated and completely protected from any wildlife but guests will be left with a safety horn that will alert the safari guide nearby at any point in the night if they feel unsafe,” said James.
The experience is available to couples, and small families can be accommodated with an extra bed. The sleep-out is only available for guests staying three nights or more and is complimentary.
At Leroo La Tau, on the western bank of the Boteti River about 140km southeast of Maun, guests can sleep on the ground (on the salt pan) on a ‘bedroll’.
A bush toilet will be available, along with a basic hand basin.
